Free Smoke Alarms

The Red Cross is installing free smoke alarms in May and June. They are FREE for anyone in Humboldt and Del Norte County (all areas, including Smith River, Hoopa, Rio Dell and beyond).  They will schedule an appointment for the time and date that works best with the head of household. On average each visit takes no more than 30 minutes. During the visit they will inspect the current alarms and determine if they need new batteries, a whole new unit or if the current unit is okay as is.
