CERT Traffic Control & Crowd Management Training

CERT Traffic Control & Crowd Management Training

Event Date:

04/23/2023 - 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Event Type:

Event Description:

"This is the FEMA "Traffic and Crowd Management" course developed specifically for CERT members. This course builds upon skills previously received in the BASIC CERT course. The purpose of the CERT Traffic and Crowd Management module is to provide CERT members with the skills needed to manage traffic and crowds in planned and emergency situations.

Successful completion of this course will provide students with a nationally standardized set of shared traffic and management procedures and skills, simplifying collaboration between CERT teams and increasing member safety.

As ALL CERT members throughout Humboldt County are invited, this will also provide a useful networking opportunity to meet and share ideas between teams. Let's all be better prepared for the next Parade, Point of Distribution, or Evacuation!"

04/26/2023 - 10:00am to 11:15am

Event Type:

Event Description:

Please join the FEMA Region 2 National Preparedness Division for a webinar on how an amateur radio can be a useful tool before, during and after disasters.

Historically, amateur radio has been a valuable resource in the Response and Recovery phases of many disasters, providing expedient communications when standard public safety and commercial telecommunications infrastructure has been severely impacted or completely overwhelmed. This webinar will provide guidance to Emergency Managers on establishing a viable, NIMS compliant,  AUXCOMM  (Auxiliary Communications) program as part of your Emergency Operation Plan. Learn how to add the ready resource of amateur radio as a component to your ESF-2.

Who should attend? Whole community with a particular emphasis on Local, State, and Federal Emergency Managers, CERT Program Leaders, Health Departments, and NGO’s.
