After discussions with CalOES and the counties' OES emergency managers, it was determined that the Tsunami Warning Communications Test in Del Norte, Humboldt, and Mendocino counties set for March 25th will need to be cancelled. OES response is ramping up and accommodating this test at this time is looking less and less likely. Additionally, everyone agreed that adding any more stress on the community by turning on sirens or flying planes down the coast isn't a good idea either.

 

Thanks so much to everyone who was helping prepare for this test. I'm sorry we are not able to move forward but, much like after the fire storm a few years ago, sometimes testing needs to be paused when actual emergencies dictate it. We will try again in March 2021.
